SAVANNAH, Ga.- Salma Gonzalez had 26 assists in Savannah State's 3-0 loss to Florida A&M at Tiger Arena.

FAMU won in three straight sets by scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-20.

Gonzalez also had seven digs, four kills and two serving aces in the loss.

The score was tied at 20 in the first set before the Rattlers scored four consecutive points for a 24-20 lead.

In the second set, FAMU jumped out to a 9-3 lead and Savannah State could never get any closer than four the rest of the way.

SSU trailed 16-15 in the third set but Florida A&M added four straight points for a five point advantage. Savannah State sliced their deficit to 21-19 but were out-scored 4-1 the rest of the way.

Savannah State fell to 3-20 overall and 2-7 in the MEAC with the setback.

Noria Ceballos Plaza had 17 kills for the Lady Tigers and Liz Ortiz Munoz added 13 digs.

FAMU (9-15, 8-1 MEAC) was paced by Maria Garcia (12 kills), Elena Dimitrova (25 assists) and Jessa Long (14 digs).
