CHARLESTON, S.C.- Savannah State dropped a 3-0 decision to The Citadel in matches played at McAlister Field House.
 
SSU lost by scores of 21-25, 11-25, 16-25.
 
In the first set, Savannah State trailed 22-21 but the Bulldogs tallied the final three points to earn the win.
 
Savannah State hit -.034 in the second set and .045 in the third set.  Salma Gonzalez had four kills in the second set for SSU and had four assists in the  third set.
 
On the day, Noria Ceballos-Plaza led SSU with seven kills while Gonzalez had six. Gonzalez had 14 assists, Liz Ortiz Munoz had seven digs and Tyran Chenault had three blocks.
 
The non-conference loss drops Savannah State to 3-17 overall.
 
The Citadel (10-14) was led by Sharlissa De Jesus (13 kills), Megan Fuhr (28 assists), Caricia Rodriguez 13 digs and Alicia Roberts (3 blocks).
