TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Playing their first match since October 14, Savannah State dropped a 3-0 decision to Florida A&M.

Fans in the Al Lawson Center saw the Rattlers win by scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-23.

The loss dropped SSU to 2-16 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference while Florida A&M improved to 5-13 overall but 4-1 in conference play.

Savannah State was led by
Ashley Jordan (11 assists) and Liz Ortiz Munoz (13 digs) as they fell to 0-7 on the road.
Tyran Chenault finished with eight kills.

In the first set, Chenault had three kills for SSU while Salma Gonzalez had four assists and Ortiz Munoz had five digs.

FAMU led 19-4 in the second set and never looked back. Noria Ceballos Plaza had two kills for the Lady Tigers, Jordan had three assists and Ortiz Munoz had eight digs.

The third set was close. The score was tied at 23-23 but FAMU scored the final two points to get the victory with kills by Nair Canessa and Karina Pressoir.

In the final set, Chenault had four kills, Jordan and Gonzalez had five assists apiece and Jordan and Leiri Melendez contributed two digs each.

For the evening, Florida A&M was led by Pressoir (10 kills), Elena Dimitrova (15 assists) and Valentina Carrasco (19 digs).

The Rattlers finished the match with 36 kills, 31 assists and 46 digs.
