Tiger Bites

- SSU hopes to extend their two-game win streak over the Spartans. The Tigers defeated Norfolk St. 31-14 in 2016 at home in Savannah, Ga., then won on the road 27-9 in 2017 in Norfolk, Va.

- The Tigers are currently 2nd nationally and lead the MEAC in punt returns averaging 24.2 yards per return.

- The Tigers are 2-5 in Homecoming games since entering the MEAC in 2011. SSU's wins came against Edward Waters in 2012 and Howard in 2016. Last year, the Tigers fell 17-10 to Hampton University on Homecoming.

SSU's offense produced a season best 348 yards in their last game against Morgan State. The Tigers had 254 passing yards and 94 yards on the ground.

THE RAEBURN FILE

He went 8-2 in his third year, but bounced back to go 12-1 in his fourth season and earned another trip to the Division III playoffs. SSU went 3-7 in Raeburn's first season with the Tigers and 3-8 a year ago so there is optimism in the air on the marsh.
