Full Schedule

SAVANNAH, Ga.-  Twelve regular season home games highlight the 2017-18 Savannah State men's basketball schedule.
 
Under the direction of Horace Broadnax, who is starting his 13th year at SSU, the team will also face four teams that are ranked in the preseason Top 25 (Cincinnati, Wichita State, Baylor and Michigan State).
 
Broadnax has 198 career wins and needs just two more to reach 200.
 
The Tigers, who posted a 13-16 record a year ago, start off the new campaign with two exhibition games against in-state Division II foes Paine College (Nov. 3) and Fort Valley State University (Nov. 7) in Tiger Arena. Both schools are members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
 
Savannah State begins the regular season on the road against the University of Cincinnati (Nov. 10) before returning home to face East Tennessee State University (Nov. 13) and Middle Georgia State University (Nov. 15).
 
Next is a road game with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Nov. 17) followed by a trip to Tennessee to play in the Chattanooga Bracket of the Cayman Islands Classic. SSU faces Jacksonville State University on Nov. 20, followed by the winner or loser of the Alabama State University/University of Tennessee-Chattanooga match-up on Nov. 21. The Cincinnati and Louisiana at Lafayette games are also a part of the Cayman Island Classic games slate.
 
SSU plays at Texas Tech University (Nov. 25), then Wichita State University (Nov. 28) before coming home to host Carver College (Nov. 30) and The College of William & Mary (December 2).
 
The Tigers spend the rest of December on the road with away games at Georgia Southern University (Dec. 9), Texas A&M University (Dec. 13), Baylor University (Dec. 17), University of Virginia (Dec. 19) and Michigan State University (Dec. 31).
 
Savannah State starts its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule on the road at Coppin State University (January 6) and Morgan State University (Jan. 8) before returning to Tiger Arena for a four-game home-stand against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (Jan.13), Howard University (Jan.15), Hampton University (Jan. 20) and Norfolk State University (Jan. 22).
 
After road games at Delaware State University (Jan. 27) and Florida A&M University (Jan. 31), the Tigers play their next three games at home with South Carolina State University (Feb. 3), Morgan State (Feb. 10) and North Carolina A&T State University (Feb. 12); all paying a visit to The Marsh.
 
The Tiger visit Norfolk State (Feb. 17), Hampton (Feb. 19) and Bethune-Cookman University (Feb. 24) before playing their last home tilt of the season against North Carolina Central University (Feb. 26).
 
Savannah State will close out the regular season at South Carolina State (March 1) and will participate in the 2018 MEAC Tournament in Norfolk, Va. (March 5-10).
