DURHAM, N.C.- 
Jalen Atterbury hit a pair of doubles and scored a run as Savannah State fell to North Carolina Central 11-2 in a game played at the Durham Athletic Park.
The Tigers found themselves down 9-0 after the fifth inning with NCCU scoring twice in the first inning, once in the third, four in the fifth and twice in the sixth.
In the top of the eighth, Savannah State send two runners across home plate.
Atterbury led off with a walk. 
Hector Benitez struck out but 
Jacob Lightle drew a walk which allowed Atterbury to advance to second base. A wild pitch sent Atterbury to third and he and Lightle scored when 
Bryce Luken reached base thanks to a throwing error by the short stop. 
Tony Mejias hit a two-run double for NCCU in the bottom of the eighth for the final runs of the contest.
SSU, who didn't get their first hit until the fourth inning, left runners in scoring position in the fourth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings.
Mason Calloway added two hits for the Tigers (12-31,3-15 MEAC) .
Greg Smith was the losing pitcher. Smith drew the start and lasted 3.2 innings. He issued six hits, seven runs and four walks.
Savannah State finished the game with five hits and two errors while leaving eight men on base.
Carter Williams and Dominic Cuvas each hit home runs for the Eagles. Devin Sweet was the winning pitcher, lasting six innings. Sweet gave up three hits and three walks but no runs while striking out seven.
NCCU (20-26,10-10 MEAC had 12 hits and one error but left 11 men on base.
