Jalen Atterbury had three hits and scored three runs while
Trevor McKenna struck out eight batter to lead Savannah State to a 9-1 win over Mount St. Mary's, in a game played at Tiger Field.
The victory halted a six game losing streak by the Tigers.
Savannah State finished the game with a dozen hits but also left 14 runners stranded on base.
Thanks to three errors by Mount St. Mary's, the Tigers scored fours runs in the second inning off just one hit.
Jorge Lopez led off the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a single by Atterbury. Lopez scored when Larry Silmon reached base on an error. Atterbury scored when Mason Callloway reached base on a fielder's choice. After

Hector Benitez drew a walk to load the bases.
Kyle Gerdts reached on a fielder's choice which allowed Silmon to score and a walk to
Bryce Luken brought home Calloway for the final out of the inning.
SSU (7-7) loaded the bases in the third inning but could not score.
Atterbury led off the fifth with a double and scored on a bunt by Lightle to make the score 5-0.
The Mountaineers, who made five errors, got two of their three hits in the top of the sixth when Brendan Dabagian and Jared Urban both hit singles. Dabagian scored the lone run for the visitors after a sacrifice fly by Alex Kriss to cut the Tigers lead to 5-1.
Savannah State responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning as Atterbury hit a RBI single and scored on a double by Silmon to increase their advantage to 7-1.
SSU loaded the bases in the seventh and scored twice.
Lightle led off with a single and scored on an error by the catcher, three batters later.
Turner Davis singled in Gerdts who earlier singled to left center field.
Lightle ended the game with four hits while Gerdts added two hits.
McKenna pitched seven innings for the Tigers and gave up two hits, one run and one walk to earn the win. Greg Smith pitched two innings and got the save. Smith issued one hit and one walk while getting one strikeout.
Michael Collins was declared the loser for Mount St. Mary's (0-9). Collins struck out four while giving up four hits, four runs and four walks in four innings of work.
