TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Savannah State University women's tennis team (0-19, 0-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to Florida A&M University (1-4, 1-0 MEAC) 6-1 and to Southern University (6-8) Saturday. 
 
Florida A&M won the doubles point after winning at the No. 3 doubles position by default, and Arrice Robinson and Sophia Osabouhien defeated SSU's doubles duo of senior Sandy Lochu and freshman Lili-Morgan Pastore 6-1 at the No. 1 doubles position and Dominique Henry and Elizabeth Clayton defeated SSU's doubles team of senior Bria Burrows and senior Jennyfer Vivas 6-2 at the No. 2 singles position.
 
Lochu was the only Lady Tiger to win its match with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Olivia Rolle at the No. 1 singles position, while junior Rachida El Kateb fell to Arrice Robinson 3-0, retired at the No. 2 singles position and Pastore fell to Henry 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 3 singles position.
 
Vivas fell to Karen Machisa 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles position, while Burrows fell to Osabouhien 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles position and Clayton won by default at the No. 6 singles position. 
 
Southern won at the No. 2 singles position as Damesha Moore defeated El Kateb 5-0, retired, while Rufaro Chirewa defeated Pastore 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 singles position.
 
Vivas fell to Tanaka Chakanyuka 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles position and Burrows fell to Mia Kent 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 5 singles position and Nicki Neal won by default at the No. 6 singles position.
 
With the match clinched, the No. 1 singles went unfinished and the doubles matches weren't played.  Lochu dropped the first set 6-0 and was lead the second set 3-1 when the match was called. 
 
The Lady Tigers return home for the final two matches to face South Carolina State University Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Tiger Tennis Courts.
