Tigers Fall To Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga.- Savannah State lost their first game of the season to Kennesaw State in a game played at Stillwell Stadium.

Kennesaw State scored three times in the first inning, added two more in the fifth and three more runs in the eighth in a 9-1 victory over the Tigers.

Down 6-0 at the time, Savannah State scored their lone run in the top of the eighth inning.

With two outs, Daryl Harper doubled down the right field line and crossed home plate after a single by Mason Calloway.

Four Owl pitchers limited SSU to just four hits while Kennesaw State collected 13 hits .

In addition to hits by Harper and Callloway, Bryce Luken and Jalen Atterbury each had a hit for the Tigers.

SSU used seven pitchers in the game and starter Justin Washington was tagged with the loss.

Washington pitched 1.2 innings and gave up four hits, three runs and four walks while striking out three.

Taylor Allum and Terence Norman each had three hits and drove in two runs for KSU (2-2).

Mason Ward picked up the win on the mound with nine strikeouts in six innings of work.

Kennesaw State left 12 runners on base while SSU left five.
