SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's tennis team (0-6) fell to Charleston Southern University (3-1) 7-0 Thursday at the Tiger Tennis Courts for SSU's home opener. 
 
Charleston Southern won the doubles points after winning at the No. 3 doubles position and winning at the No. 2 doubles position with CSU's doubles team of Yana Morar and Valeria Koussenkova defeated SSU's doubles team of senior Jennyfer Vivas and junior Rachida El Kateb 6-3.  CSU's doubles duo of Nicolin Luecke and Sophie Cloessner defeated SSU's doubles team of senior Sandy Lochu and freshman Lili-Morgan Pastore.
 
Morar won at the No. 6 singles position by default to give the Buccaneers a 2-0 lead and CSU took a 3-0 after Cloessner defeated Pastore 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 singles position.  Charleston Southern clinched the match at the No. 3 singles position as Kimberley Koerner defeated El Kateb 6-2, 6-1. 
 
Ally Blake gave CSU a 5-0 lead after defeating senior Bria Burrows 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 singles position and the Buccaneers took a 6-0 lead after Luecke defeated Lochu 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 1 singles position and won the final point after Femecke van Rensburg defeated Vivas 7-6 (2), 6-2. 
 
The Lady Tigers travel to Macon, Ga., to face Mercer University Sunday at 4 p.m.
