SAVANNAH, Ga.- Trevor McKenna pitched a complete game and struck out four batters as Savannah State defeated North Carolina Central 2-0 in a game played at Tiger Field.

McKenna scattered six hits and only issued one walk.

Central had runners in scoring position in the first, second, sixth, seventh and ninth innings but came away empty each time.

Savannah State (11-34, 6-12 MEAC) got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second as Brian Miller was hit by a pitch and Bernard Barnes followed with a RBI triple to score Miller.

The final run of the contest came in the fourth.

Miller led off with a single and stole second. Miller advanced to third after a ground-out by Barnes and scored after a single by Somto Egbuna.

Both squads had six hits and left seven runners on base.

SSU made two errors while the Eagles committed one.

Christian Gonnelli took the loss for NCCU (23-25, 10-11 MEAC). Gonnelli pitched three innings and gave up two hits, one run, one run while striking out three.
