FARMVILLE, Va.- Longwood scored three runs in the bottom of the 10th inning in a 6-5 non-conference win over Savannah State, in a game played at Bolding Stadium.
The loss extends the Tigers losing streak to seven games as they fall to 9-27 on the season.
The game was tied 3-3 at the end of nine innings but SSU scored twice in the top of the 10th to take the lead.
Jalen Atterbury and Khalyd Cox both drew walks and after the first out was made, Jonathan Moore singled to right field which allowed Atterbury to score. Cox later scored on a wild pitch that put Savannah State ahead 5-3. 
The SSU pitching suffered a breakdown in the bottom half of the 10th as seven Longwood players reached base.
The Lancers loaded the bases as a result of a walk, single and another player reaching base on a fielder's choice.The next batter, Brandon Harvell, drew a walk to bring home a run. The next batter hit into a fielder's choice and the runner was thrown out at home but a walk to Sammy Miller allowed another run to score which tied the game at 5-5.CJ Roth followed the walk with a RBI single through the right side which scored Harvell and proved to be the game winning run.
Moore had two hits and drove in two runs for the Tigers while Cox scored three times. Charles Sikes added a pair of singles. 
Ryan McCranie took the loss, giving up two runs in one third of an inning. 
SSU was held to just five hits and left seven runners on base.
Longwood was led by Miller who was 2 for 2 and scored twice.
Steven Farkas struck out 12 batters on the mound in his 7.2 innings but it was reliever Devin Gould who got the win. Gould pitched 2.1 innings and struck out three while giving up two runs and four walks.
The Lancers had 10 hits, drew nine walks and left 13 on base.
Savannah State led 3-0 after two inning of play.
Cox and Sikes scored for the Tigers in the first inning and Cox scored again in the second inning after a single by Sikes.
Longwood (21-15) scored once in the fourth and fifth innings and tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh.
