SAVANNAH, Ga.- Harrison Preschel's RBI single in the top of the 11th inning proved to be the game winning run as LIU-Brooklyn defeated Savannah State 4-3 in a game played at Tiger Field.

The contest started on March 4 but was suspended after ten innings. The game resumed on March 5 in the top of the 11 where Kyle Ruth singled and scored on Preschel's single.

In the bottom of the inning, Cole Bruce singled, advanced to second  and third on sacrifice bunts by Jacob Lightle and Jalen Atterbury but was stranded on base when  Brian Morgan grounded out to end the game.

The Blackbirds took a 1-0 lead in the second inning but SSU tied it up in the bottom of the third when Atterbury was hit by a pitch and scored on a single by Jonathan Moore.

Ruth led off the fifth with a double and scored on a single by Charles Misiano to give LIU a 2-1 edge.

The Tigers added two runs in the bottom of the inning to go ahead 3-2. With two outs, Moore walked and came home on a home run by Mendez Elder.

Savannah State (3-7) made a pair of errors in the eighth and one of them resulted in a run being scored hat tied the game at 3-3.

SSU collected 11 hits in the game but stranded 10 runners and made two errors.

Moore had three hits for the Tigers while Miller and Somto Egbuna had two hits each.

Trevor McKenna struck out six batters in seven innings for SSU got no decision. Reliever Ryan McCranie was tagged with the loss as he gave up five hits and one run in 3.2 innings of work.

Ruth had two hits and scored twice for the Blackbirds.

Vincent Tranchina was the winning pitcher. Tranchina pitched one inning in relief and gave up one hit.

LIU (2-5) had nine hits in the game and left eight men on base.
