SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's tennis (0-18, 0-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to Florida A&M University (6-10, 3-0 MEAC) 6-0 Sunday at the Tiger Tennis Courts.
Junior
Sandy Lochu fell to Alexis Dean of FAMU 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 1 singles position, while sophomore
Elizabeth Geronimo fell to FAMU's Shantel Blackwood 6-0 in the first set, but was retired due to injury at the No. 2 singles position and freshman
Rachida Kateb fell to FAMU's Olivia Rolle 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3 singles position.
Junior
Jennyfer Vivas fell to FAMU's Arrice Robinson 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 4 singles position, while junior
Bria Burrows fell to Elizabeth Clayton of FAMU 6-2, 6-2 and senior
Tiffany Williams fell to Kiara Shaw of FAMU 6-0 in the first set and was trailing 1-0 in the second set before retiring due to injury.
The doubles were not played since the match was moved back from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. due to rain and wet courts.
The Lady Tigers continue their three-game homestand with the final home match of the season against Western Carolina University on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Tiger Tennis Courts before traveling to Statesboro, Ga., for the final two matches of the season against the University of Louisiana at Monroe on April 2 at 2:30 p.m. and Georgia Southern on April 3 at noon.
