DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Savannah State University women's tennis (0-8, 0-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) fell to Bethune-Cookman (2-6, 1-0 MEAC) at the City Island Tennis Courts Saturday.

The Lady Tigers lost the doubles point after SSU's doubles team of Sandy Lochu and Elizabeth Geronimo fell to B-CU's doubles team of Mina Matsuba and Matea Roki 6-0 at the No. 1 doubles position and SSU's doubles team Bria Burrows and Tiffany Williams fell to B-CU's doubles team of Alejandra Vidal and Ancia Ifill 6-2 at the No. 3 doubles position.
 
At the No. 2 doubles position, the match was tied at three between SSU's doubles team of Rachida Kateb and Jennyfer Vivas and B-CU's Hilary Hanton and Karen Romero when the match was called since the Wildcats already won the doubles point.
 
Geronimo and Vivas came the closes to winning their match as Geronimo won the first set 7-5 against Roki at the No. 2 singles position, but fell 6-1 in the second set and 1-0 (6) in the tiebreaker set and Vivas fell in the first set 7-5 against Romero at the No. 5 singles position, but won the second set 6-2 and fell in the tiebreaker set 1-0 (2).
 
Lochu fell at the No. 1 singles positions 6-1, 6-1 against Matsuba, while Kateb fell to Ifill 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 singles position.  Burrows fell to Hanton 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 4 singles position, while Williams fell to Vidal 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 singles position.
 
The Lady Tigers continue its Florida trip with a match against Oakland University in Orlando Sunday at 10 a.m.
