CONWAY, S.C. – The Savannah State University women's tennis (0-3) fell to Coastal Carolina University (2-1) 6-1 Saturday at Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex.
 
Coastal Carolina went 1-0 after winning the doubles point.  SSU's doubles team of Junior Sandy Lochu and sophomore Elizabeth Geronimo fell to Coastal Carolina's doubles team of Libby Scott and Laura Mary 6-1 at the No. 1 doubles position, while freshman Rachida Kateb and junior Jennyfer Vivas fell to Natalie Wall and Cari Berry of Coastal Carolina 6-0 at the No. 2 doubles position and junior Bria Burrows and senior Tiffany Williams fell to CCU's doubles team of Romane Delay and Marie Babayan 6-0 at the No. 3 doubles position.
 
Geronimo was the only Lady Tiger to record a victory in the singles as she defeated Wall 3-2, retired at the No. 2 singles position.  Lochu fell to Scott at the No. 1 singles position 6-2, 6-1, while Kateb fell to Delay 1-0, retired at the No. 3 singles position.
 
Burrows fell to Berry 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 5 singles position and Williams fell to Brooke Campbell 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 singles position.
 
The Lady Tigers continue their four-match roadstand traveling to Montgomery, Ala., for two matches.  SSU faces Alabama A&M on Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. and Alabama State on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.
