Box Score 2 SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State and Bethune-Cookman split a doubleheader in games played at Tiger Field.

In the first game, a 10-0 victory by B-CU, the Tigers were held to just two hits. In the second game, a 2-1 win by SSU,
Austin Denney scattered four hits as he struck out four batters.
Bethune scored three times in the first inning.

In the bottom half of the inning, SSU loaded the bases but came away empty.

Jacob Lightle singled for the Tigers in the bottom of the second inning for their first hit of the game.

B-CU added four more runs in the third inning for a 7-0 advantage.

A single by
Michael McHugh in the fourth was SSU's last hit of the contest.

Bethune scored three times in the sixth for the final runs of the game.

Austin Robinson was tagged with the loss for the Tigers.

Cookman's Keith Zuniga struck out five batters in his seven innings of work while Austin Garcia had three hits, drove in four runs and scored twice.

In the nightcap, all the scoring was done in the first inning.

Bryant Munzo led off the top half of the inning with a double and Demetrius Simms followed with a single. Munoz scored on a sacrifice fly by Nathan Bond for a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, with two outs,
Mendez Elder walked and came home on a home run by Charles Sikes.

That would be all the offense the Tigers would need as Denney held Cookman to two hits the rest of the way.

Tyler Norris took the loss for the Wildcats (16-36, 14-9) while Bond had two hits for the offense.

Savannah State improved to 18-30 overall and 11-12 in the MEAC.
