Box Score SALISBURY, Md.- Florida A&M scored three runs in the seventh inning and held on to defeat Savannah State, in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament played at Perdue Stadium.

Entering the fifth inning, Savannah State trailed 4-3 but tied the score when
Zachary Brigham led off with a double and later scored on a ground-out by
Hector Benitez.

FAMU scored three runs off four hits in the seventh.

Marlonm Gibbs singled and scored on a single by Ryan Kennedy. A double by AJ Elkins allowed Kennedy to score and a double by Brian Davis sent Elkins across home plate for the 7-4 lead.

The Tigers (21-32) took the early lead when
Mendez Elder led off the game with a solo home run.

In the top of the third, SSU expanded their lead to 3-0.

Jonathan Moore was hit by a pitch and
Harrison Moore singled. Brigham reached base on a fielder's choice which allowed J. Moore to score and
Michael McHugh followed with a single to right filed which allowed H. Moore to score.

Alec Wong hit a solo home run for the Rattlers in the bottom of the inning to put the Rattlers on the scoreboard.

In the bottom of the fourth, FAMU added three more runs.

With the bases loaded, a sacrifice by Jared Walker allowed Davis to score and a two-run single by Michael Birdsong sent home Jeremy Barlow and Peter Jackson for a 4-3 advantage.

SSU's
Austin Denney pitched for 6.1 innings and struck out seven batters.

H. Moore and Sikes each had two hits for the Tigers.

Reliever Brandon Fleming earned the win for FAMU with four strikeouts in 5.2 innings while giving up one run and three hits. Starter Ryan Anderson went 3.1 innings and struck out four while surrendering seven hits and three runs.

Birdsong had two RBI for the winners.

FAMU (21-23) is the top seed in the southern division.

SSU, the third seed in the southern division, drops into the loser's bracket and will play Bethune-Cookman, the second seed in the southern division, on May 14 at 12:30 p.m.
