Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back as the Tigers posted a 9-0 conference win over visiting North Carolina A&T at Tiger Field.

The Tigers collected 12 hits on the day while
Zach McCormack and Michael Sailros combined to hold A&T to just five hits. McCormack pitched 8.2 innings and struck out four.

Hector Benitez led off the first inning with a walk but was caught trying to seal second.
Harrison Moore,
Mendez Elder Charles Sikes and
Zachary Brigham hit consecutive singles for the Tigers with Sikes and Brigham collecting RBIs. After
Michael McHugh popped out,
Jonathan Moore walked to load the bases.
Ryan McCranie drew a walk that allowed Sikes to score and
Jacob Lightle followed with a single to right field that allowed Brigham and
Jonathan Moore to cross home plate. After a pitching change, Benitez singled to the shortstop re-load the bases and
Harrison Moore reached on a error which allowed McCranie to score.

McCranie led off the sixth with a single to center field and scored on a single by Elder to make the score 7-0.

The final runs of the contest came in the bottom of the seventh.

Marcus Mitchell led off with a single and Brigham was hit by a pitch. Following a ground-out by McHugh and a pitching change,
Jonathan Moore singled to score Mitchell while Brigham scored on a passed ball.

Elder, Sikes and
Jonathan Moore all had two hits for SSU (17-28, 10-11) while Brigham and McCranie scored twice and Lightle drove in two runs.

AJ Hunt had two hits for A&T (8-33, 5-15). Kaesen Wilson was the losing pitcher. Wilson pitched two-thirds of the first inning before being relieved. Wilson gave up five hits, six runs and three walks.
