Box Score 2 SAVANNAH, Ga.- The Savannah State baseball team dropped a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader against Florida A&M at Tiger Field. FAMU won the first game, 9-4, then took the second, 3-2.

SSU fell to 6-8 in conference play and 12-22 overall.

In the opener, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when
Ryan McCranie's double scored
Mendez Elder, who earlier singled.
Â
Three of the four runs scored by the Rattlers in the top of the fourth were unearned as the visitors took a 4-1 lead.

McCranie and
Brian Miller hit a RBI singles for the Tigers in the bottom of the inning to cut the FAMU lead to 4-3.

The Rattlers extended their advantage to 7-3 with one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
Â
Miller led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and scored on a single by
Jonathan Moore to make the score 7-4.

FAMU put the game away in the eighth on a two-run home run by Alec Wong.

The Tigers finished the game with 11 hits and made three errors.

McCranie had two hits and drove in two runs while Elder had three hits and scored twice.

Austin Denny went five innings and gave up eight hits, while striking out four, for SSU.
Â
Wong had three hits and drove in three runs for FAMU. Brandon Fleming pitched three innings and gave up four hits and only one run to earn the win.

FAMU had 12 hits, left eight men on base and made two errors.

In the second game, Savannah State scored both of their runs in the second inning.

Richards singled and scored on a triple by
Harrison Moore, a freshman outfielder. Moore scored on a wild pitch to give SSU a 2-0 lead.

FAMU had the bases loaded in the sixth and a pair of walked resulted in two runs being scored to tie the game.

The Rattlers scored the game-winner in the ninth with two outs and the bases loaded to improve to 14-19 over and
10-7 in the MEAC.

Zach Chandler took the loss for SSU after in 3.1 innings.

Ryan Kennedy had two RBI for FAMU while Ken McDonald was awarded the win. McDonald held SSU hitless in the final three innings while striking out three.

FAMU had eight hits but left 11 men on base while the Tigers had four hits and left eight men on base.
