Box Score 2 DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- In a pair of error-filled games, Bethune-Cookman received a strong pitching effort as the Wildcats swept Savannah State in a double header played at Jackie Robinson Park.

B-CU won the opener 6-3 as Alex Seibold and Clint Clymer combined to limit the Tigers to five hits. In the second game, a 9-2 Wildcat win, Keith Zuniga and Alexis Herrera held SSU to five hits.

Cookman made seven errors on the day while Savannah State made five.
Â
In the first game, the Wildcats scored a unearned run in the bottom of the fourth but SSU tied the game in the top of the fifth as Jonahan Moore scored a unearned run.

B-CU added three unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-1 advantage.

Charlos Sikes and
Zachary Brigham crossed home plate for the Tigers in the sixth to slice their deficit to 4-3 but Cookman added a pair of runs in the seventh to take a 6-3 lead as Clay Middleton hit a two-run single.

SSU left 10 runners on base, in the loss.

Michael McHugh had a hit and RBI for the Tigers.
Â
Austin Denny was tagged with the loss. Denny pitched 6.1 innings and struck out six but gave up eight hits and six runs, all unearned.

Jordan Robinson scored three times for the Wildcats. Seibold earned the win while Clymer got the save. Seibold pitched 5.2 innings and walked four while Clymer contributed 3.1 innings and struck out five.

In the second game, Cookman got 13 hits as they jumped out to a 9-0 lead.

B-CU (9-21,8-3 MEAC) scored four times in the second, once in the third and four times in the fifth.

The Tigers scored their runs in the top of the seventh as they left the bases loaded.

Devin Jackson led off with a walk and Malcolm Moore followed with a single. After a ground-out by Somoto Egbuna,
Hector Benitez and
Brian Miller hit back to back singles which allowed Jackson and Moore to score.Â

SSU, who left nine runners on base, dropped to 12-15 overall and 6-5 in the MEAC.

Austin Robinson was the loser after pitching 4.1 innings and giving up nine hits and eight runs.
Â
Demetrius Sims had three hits and three RBI for Cookman. Zuniga was awarded the win after pitching six innings and yielding two hits and no runs.
