Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Matt Vaka and Dan VanSickle combined to limit Savannah State to just three hits as North Florida posted a 13-1 win over the Tigers in a non-conference game played at Harmon Stadium.

The game was called after five and half innings due to unplayable field conditions.

Vaka pitched five innings and gave up three hits and one run while striking out three while VanSickle didn't yield any hits in his one inning on the mound.

The Ospreys scored twice in the first and second innings and added five more runs in the third to jump out to a 9-0 lead.

SSU (12-13) scored their lone run in the top of the fourth.

After ground outs by
Jonathan Moore and
Mendez Elder, Charles Sikes and
Zachary Brigham hit back to back doubles. Brigham's hit allowed Sikes to cut the Tigers' deficit to 9-1.

UNF scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings to close out the scoring.

Brigham had a single and a double for the Tigers.

Zach McCormack pitched one and a third inning for SSU and was tagged with the loss. McCormack gave up five hits, four runs and three walks.

Brian Miller also took to the mound for the Tigers.

Donnie Dewees had five RBI for UNF (18-9) while Corbin Olmstead had three hits.
