Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C.- Savannah State had their six-game winning streak snapped with a 10-6 loss to North Carolina A&T in a game played at War Memorial Stadium.

Playing in 55-degree weather, the Aggies jumped out to a 8-0 lead and held off a SSU rally to earn their first conference victory of the season.

Savannah State had 10 hits and left six men on base while A&T stranded nine base runners and had eight hits.
Â
Only five of the A&T runs were earned.

The Tigers used six pitchers in the game and starter
Greg Hollman only lasted two-thirds of an inning and was tagged with giving up five runs, three hits and three walks.

North Carolina A&T scored five times in the first inning and added three more in the bottom of the second.

SSU began to whittle away at their deficit with a pair of runs in the third and fifth innings.

In the top of the third,
Devin Jackson and
Somto Egbuna drew walks and came home on a triple by
Mendez Elder. In the fifth, Somto and Elder both singled and scored on a double by Charles Sikes to sliced their deficit to 8-4.

The Aggies added two more runs to their lead in the sixth to make it 10-4.

In the eighth,
Zachary Brigham and
David Richards both singled while
Michael McHugh reached on a fielding error that scored Brigham. After
Harrison Moore struck out swinging, Richards stole home for the final run of the contest.

Elder had three hits and drove in two runs for SSU (12-12, 6-3). Brighan had two hits, Sikes had two RBI and Egbuna scored twice.Â

Adan Ordonez went 4 for 5 for A&T and drove in four runs and scored three times.

B Smith was the game-winner for the Aggies (3-16, 1-7). Smith pitched 4.2 innings and gave up six hits and four runs.
