Zachary Brigham drove in three runs to power Savannah State to a 6-4 non-conference victory over Wofford, in a game played at Tiger Field.

Brigham had two hits in the game, a RBI single in the first inning and a two-run single in the bottom of the third.

The Tigers pounded out 14 hits but also made four errors on the day.

Wofford (12-5) scored a run in the top of the first for a 1-0 lead.

SSU answered in the bottom of the inning with Brigham's RBI single that scored
Hector Benitez, who led off with a single, and a RBI single by
David Richards that scored Charles Sikes, who earlier singled.

Matthew Pelt hit a sacrifice fly that scored a run for the Terriers in the top of the first and third innings.

Both squads scored runs in the fourth.

Wofford's Kody Ruedisili led off with a single and advanced to second on an error by the pitcher in a failed pick-off attempt. After two outs were made, Derek Hirsh laid down a bunt to third and advanced to second on an error by Sikes. That error allowed Ruedisili to cut the Tigers lead to 4-3.

SSU got the run back in the bottom half of the inning when
Mendez Elder singled to third and scored on a double by Sikes to make the score 5-3.

Wofford had three hits and left the bases loaded in the sixth but only scored run run to cut their deficit to 5-4.

After a scoreless seventh where both teams left runners on base, the Tigers added the final run of the contest in the eighth as
Ryan McCranie singled to second and scored after
Jacob Lightle singled to left field.

Sikes had three hits, one RBI and scored a run while Benitez, Mendez and Lightle all had two hits for the Tigers. Benitez and Elder scored twice for SSU (6-10).

The Tigers used six pitchers in the game. Chris Rousse picked up the win in relief while
Rex Davis got the save. Rousse pitched three innings and gave up four hits, two runs and one walk while Davis pitched one inning and surrendered one walk and no hits.

Wofford, who had 10 hits and left ten men on base were led by Hirsh who went 3 for 3 at the plate.

John Caskey took the loss. Caskey, one of four Terrier pitchers, pitched three innings and gave up nine hits and four runs.
