Box Score 2 SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State stranded 21 runners on base as the Tigers lost a double-header to Long Island-Brooklyn in games played at Tiger Field.
 
SSU left 11 runners on base in a 6-4 lost in the first game and stranded 10 runners on base in the nightcap, a 4-2 setback.
 
The Tigers, who have lost seven of their last eight games, fell to 4-8 overall.
 
In the first game, Vince Tranchina hit a two-run home run for the Blackbirds in the top of the second inning but Savannah State knotted the score in the bottom half of the inning as 
Jonathan Moore and Deven Jackson hit RBI singles.
 
LIU went ahead 4-2 in the fourth after a two-run homer by Mark Hernandez.
 
Charles Sikes led off the bottom of the fifth with a double and later scored on a single by Moore to bring SSU within 4-3.
 
Both teams left the bases juiced in the eighth.
 
The Blackbirds scored twice in their half of the inning to increase their advantage to 6-3 while the Tigers could only muster one run as Moore singled and scored on a single by 
Marcus Mitchell to make the score 6-4.
 
Moore had three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Tigers while 
Zachary Brigham collected two hits.
 
Kenny Glover took the loss on the mound. Glover went 5.2 innings and gave up six hits and four runs while striking out four.
 
Chas Lacko, who pitched five innings, earned the win for LIU while Dustin Carlson got the save.
 
Both teams had 12 hits.
 
In the second game, the Blackbirds scored twice in the top of the ninth to earn the victory as John Serrano hit a RBI double and Anthony Capo hit a RBI single.
 
The contest was scoreless until LIU's Hernadez hit a two-run double in the fourth for a 2-0 lead.
 
Savannah State tied the game in the seventh.
 
Jascob Lightle pinch ran for 
Ryan McCranie, who led off with a walk. Mike McHugh singled to right field which advanced Lightle to third. Lightle scored on a sacrifice fly by 
Mendez Elder. Sikes was hit by a pitch and 
David Richards drew a walk to load the bases. Brigham drew a walk which allowed 
Hector Benitez, who pinch ran for McHugh, to score and tie the game.
 
Both pitching staffs held their opponent to five hits.
 
Sikes had a double to lead the SSU offense.
 
Zach McCormick started for SSU and struck out five in five innings but it was 
Giancarlo Mirabal who took the loss. Mirabal went two innings and surrendered two hits, two runs and two walks.
 
Cory Hart struck out seven batters for LIU (2-1) while reliever Evan Flood took home the win as he struck out six in 2.1 innings.
 
Capo had two hits while Hernandez had two RBI for the Blackbirds.
