Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga.- Charles Sikes drove in three runs to lead Savannah State to a 6-1 victory over Air Force, in a game played at Tiger Field.

Sikes, the MEAC Preseason Player of the Year, drove in a run via  sacrifice fly in the third, hit a solo home run in the fifth and had another RBI sacrifice fly in the seventh.

The Falcons took the early lead in the top of the third when Travis Wilkie doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Spencer Draws.

SSU answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Michael McHugh led off with a walk and
Harrison Moore followed with a single. A sacrifice bunt by
Brian Miller advanced the runners to second and third and
Mendez Elder followed with a RBI single that scored McHugh.
Jonathan Moore bunted his way on base and
David Richards reached on an error which allowed
Harrison Moore to score. Sikes hit a sacrifice fly to center field that was deep enough to allow Elder to score while
Jonathan Moore stole home for the fourth run.

Sikes' solo home run in the fifth over the left field fence put the Tigers ahead 5-1.

Jonathan Moore reached on an error in the seventh and scored on a sacrifice fly to right field by Sikes, for the final run of the contest.

Austin Robinson, who picked up the win, hurled six innings for SSU and gave up six hits and one run while striking out two.
Ryan Doyle, who earned the save, pitched three inning in relief and only gave up one hit while striking out two. Neither pitcher issued a walk.

Harrison Moore and
Zachary Brigham each had two hits for SSU while
Jonathan Moore scored twice.

Savannah State had a dozen hits on the day.

The Tigers (3-1) made five errors and left six men on base.

Trent Monaghan was one of four Falcon pitchers to take the mound. Monaghan, who was tagged with the loss, went six innings and gave up nine hits, five runs and three walks while striking out five.

David Thomas had three hits for Air Force (0-4).

The Falcons stranded seven base runners and committed two errors.
