Coach Wilson on last week against Morgan State….

It was a matchup, we had a lot of elements going up against us and we learned from the trip. But, Morgan State played an outstanding game. Lee has those guys going in the right direction. As we know they represented us in the conference playoffs last year. But we came up there and we were down some players and we played a tough first half. And then at the half, after halftime both running backs were down. The referee told me the 15 and a half hour bus trip took a toll on us but I don't know if that was it. We just weren't focused and Lee took full advantage of it and the Morgan State bears and they did a good job in defeating us.

Coach Wilson on the Tigers leading in TOP...

Well for us since we do have a young team it's very important. I think that with the young defense we got, it doesn't their offense a chance to be on the field that long. As long as you can keep possession of the ball, but get the ball in the end zone we're good.

Coach Wilson on the upcoming game against N.C. Central...

Oh it's going to be a good one. Jerry Mac's is going to bring his team in here. I know he's a good coach, he's been doing a good job with the guys. Had some tough breaks, but we're looking for the challenge. We had an interesting game last year. So were looking to try and counter it up this year. So, it's going to be very interesting. I think that they're going to be coming in on all cylinders, ready to fire. So we've just have to counter them and put the ball in the end zone. May the best team win.

The Series: North Carolina Central leads the series 7-2-1. N.C. Central defeated SSU, 42-12, last season and have won the las t three straight over NCCU. SSU's last win over NCCU was in 2011 (33-30).

- The Tigers have the opportunity to be 2-0 at home and have two conference wins with a win against NCCU. Both will be a first for the Tigers since entering the MEAC in 2011.
