Women’s Tennis Drops Nonconference Match



CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Lady Tigers fell to College of Charleston in a nonconference evening match at the Tennis Center in Charleston, South Carolina on Thursday.

SSU fell 0-7 to the Lady Cougars. The Lady Tigers fall to 5-13 on the season. They have four games remaining in the regular season, including Monday's final home game against Akron University.

Prior to the 11 a.m. match on Monday, SSU will honor their senior in pregame ceremonies.

In the first court, on Thursday, SSU senior Andrea Pavlovic dropped her match to Kelly Kambourellis in straight sets, 1-6 and 2-6.

Angela Bonilla fell to Brooke McAmis in the second court, 0-6 and 0-6. Jennyfer Vivas was defeated by Mara Argyriou, 6-1, and 6-0. Nicole Ashiedu fell in straight sets, 0-6 and 0-6 to Samantha Maddox in the fourth court.

Tiffany Williams dropped the fifth court to Grace Baker, 0-6 and 0-6, while Bria Burrows lost to Thai Thompson in the sixth court, 1-6, and 0-6.

In double's competition, Pavlovic and Ashiedu paired up against Katherine Schofield and Jenny Falcone in the first court. SSU fell to Charleston 0-8.

Bonilla and Vivas were defeated in the second court by McAmis and Jamie Harriell, 0-8. Rounding out double's action, Burrows and Williams lost to Argyriou and Thompson, 0-8.
