Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Savannah State scored four runs in the top of the ninth but their efforts were not enough as the Tigers lost 8-7 to North Florida in a non-conference game played at Harmon Stadium.

The Tigers (9-14) took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. SSU opened the game with back-to-back singles by
Todd Hagen and
Parker Nix. Hagen scored on a single by Charles Sikes and Nix scored on a sacrifice bunt by
Michael McHugh.

Corbin Olmstead hit a solo home run for UNF in the bottom of the inning.

The Ospreys added single runs in the second and fourth innings to go ahead 3-2 and sent four runners across home plate in the seventh to increase their lead to 7-2.

Sikes blasted a solo homer for the Tigers in the top of the eighth to make the score 7-3 but Peyton Walsh hit a RBI single for North Florida in the bottom of the inning for a 8-3 cushion.

In the ninth, UNF made a pair of errors while Savannah State collected two hits.

Marcus Wojtkowicz led off with a single,
Kevin Herlihy reached on a fielder's choice and
Hector Benitez walked to load the bases. Brain Miller struck out for the first out but Hagen hit a RBI single that scored Wojtkowicz.  Nix struck out for the second out. Sikes followed by reaching base on an error but it also allowed all three runners on base to score and cut the Osprey's lead to 8-7.
Lee Moore grounded out to end the Tigers chance for a victory.

Sikes had three hits and drove in two runs for SSU while Hagen scored twice. Nix and Wojtkowowicz each had two hits for the Tigers.
Austin Robinson took the loss for Savannah State. Robinson pitched four innings and gave up seven hits and three runs while striking out two.

Olmstead paced the Ospreys (10-10) with three RBI, two hits and two runs. Bryan Baker was awarded the win after pitching five innings and surrendering five hits and two runs while striking out three.

SSU had nine hits in the game while North Florida had 11. Both teams left six runners on base.
