Aaron Hoffer drove in four runs as Savannah State downed Wofford 8-4 in a non-conference game played at King Field.

Hoffer, who had two hits and scored twice, became the first SSU player to hit a home run this season when he hit a two-run homer over the left center field fence in the top of the third inning to give the Tigers a 5-1 lead.

The Terriers sliced SSU's lead to 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth but Savannah State scored once in the fifth and twice in the eighth to improve their record to 6-10.
 SSU collected five hits in the first inning and scored three times.

Todd Hagen,
Parker Nix and Charles Sikes started the contest with consecutive singles to load the bases. After
Lee Moore struck out, Hoffer hit a two run single that scored Hagen and Nix.
Mendez Elder followed with another single that sent home Sikes for the 3-0 lead.

Dylan May put Wofford on the scoreboard in the second with a solo home run.

Moore drew a walk for the Tigers in the third and came home on Hoffer's home run.

With the bases loaded and with two outs, Josh Hyman got the Terriers back in the game in the fourth with a base clearing double to make the score 5-4.

In the fifth inning, Hoffer walked and scored on a triple by Elder to increase the Tigers lead to 6-4.

Elder,
Zachary Brigham and
Ryan McCranie all singles for Savannah State in the eighth. Elder scored on a wild pitch while McCranie's hit allowed Brigham to score the final run.

Elder went 4 for 4 for the Tigers and drove in two runs while scoring once. Hagen had three hits and Sikes chipped in two hits.

SSU used six pitchers in the game.
Ryan Doyle was the starter and was awarded the win, as he pitched two innings. Doyld gave up three hits and one run.

Hyman had three hits and three RBI for Wofford (9-7). Starter Jordan Accetta was tagged with the loss. Accetta surrendered eight hits and five runs.

Savannah State had 14 hits while Wofford had nine. The Terriers stranded nine runners while SSU left six men on base.
