Box Score FORT VALLEY, Ga. – For the second time this season, the Savannah State volleyball squad beat Fort Valley State in a nonconference match.
The Lady Tigers hosted the Lady Wildcats to open the season, beating them 3-0 in the first matchup. On Sunday, SSU fell in the opening set 20-25, but regained composer in the following three sets to seal up their fourth win of the season with a 3-1 match victory.

Christian Lyle led the Lady Tigers in the win with a season-high 11 kills. Newcomer
Autumn Session recorded a season-high nine kills behind Lyle.
Zariya Thomas added six kills, while
Alexis Washington led in digs with eight.
In the second set, Fort Valley played the Lady Tigers to the line. With the score all tied up at 24, SSU squeezed out a win with the final two points for a 26-24 win, tying the match at 1-1.
The Lady Tigers cruised to victory in the final two sets with a 25-10 win in the third set and a 25-18 win the fourth set. In the second set, SSU went on a 16-0 run for the win.
SSU returns to action on Tuesday night with another nonconference road match. They face The Citadel at 6 p.m. in Charleston, South Carolina. The Lady Tigers return home Friday, October 10th to face North Carolina Central at 6 p.m. in Willcox-Wiley Gym.
