Tigers Complete Sweep of A&T

SAVANNAH, Ga.- With the score tied at seven, Savannah State scored twice in the fifth and once more in the eighth to take a 10-7 win over North Carolina A&T at Tiger Field to complete the weekend sweep of the Aggies.
SSU (27-18, 15-5) had 14 hits while leaving seven men on base while A&T produced 10 hits and stranded eight runners.
The Aggies opened the game with two runs in the top of the first but SSU tied the game in the bottom half of the inning as Parker Nix hit a two-run triple to send home Peter Poole and Joseph McCray.
Two of the three runs scored by A&T were unearned in the second as they took a 5-2 lead but Savannah State answered again when Lee Moore reached on a fielder's choice and later stole home and Todd Hagen singled and scored on a single by McCrary to pull within 5-4.
Dairio Little hit a two-run double for the Aggies in the third to increase their lead to 7-4. In the bottom of the inning SSU was able to tie the game as Nix, David Richards and Chris Arnold all crossed home plate.
Richards and Drew Quinney scored runs for SSU in the fifth and in the eighth Antonio Scott scored a run.
McCrary, Nix and Arnold all drove in two runs for the Tigers. Hagen McCrary, Nix, Richards and Quinney all had two hits and Richards scored twice. Ethan Glass struck out four batters in 2.2 innings of relief to earn the win.
Cameron Jergens went 3 for 3 for A&T (14-31, 7-13). Tyler Boone took the loss, pitching 6.1 innings and giving up 10 hits and six runs.
