Box Score DURHAM, N.C.- Leo Moore hit a two-run single as Savannah State scored three times in the top of the ninth in a 6-3 win over North Carolina Central at the Durham Athletic Park.
Entering the ninth with a 3-2 lead, SSU (24-17, 12-5) loaded the bases as
Parker Nix doubled,
David Richards reached on an error and
Chris Arnold drew a walk.
Drew Quinney's single brought home Nix and Moore followed with a singled that scored Richards and Arnold.
NCCU had the bases loaded in the bottom half of the inning but could only score one run.
Dylan Drayton hit a RBI single for Central in the second but SSU tied the game in the top of the third as Quinney led off with a double and scored on a bunt by
Darien Campbell.
Moore's sacrifice fly scored Arnold in the fifth and Nix doubled home
Todd Hagen in the sixth to put the Tigers ahead 3-1.
Drayton scored for NCCU (23-21, 10-11) to cut Savannah State's lead to 3-2 in the eighth.
Moore had two hits and three RBI for SSU while Nix and Quinney added two hits each and Arnold scored twice.
Rexford Davis got the win, giving up five hits and one run while striking out four in seven innings.
Ronald Thompson, Drayton and Tyson Simpson all had two hits for the Eagles. Terry McNabb pitched 8.1 innings and gave up seven hits and six runs.
