McGowin Strikes Out 10

Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga.- Kyle McGowin struck out 10 batters in seven innings to lead Savannah State to a 6-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson at Tiger Field.

McGowin gave up five hits and a pair of walks as he improved his pitching record to 3-0.

Todd Hagen along with Mender Elder, Joseph McCrary and Parker Nix all had two hits for the Tigers in the victory.

SSU scored once in the first and fourth innings and added four more in the fifth.

Hagen led off the bottom of the first with a single and scored on a single by McCrary.

In the fourth, Nix led off with a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Nix scored when Chris Arnold grounded out to the shortstop.

Hagen singled in the fifth and Elder drew a walk. Hagen scored on a double by McCrary and a double by Nix sent Elder and Hagen across home plate. The final run of the game came when Gian Mirabel singled to score Nix.

Savannah State collected 12 hits on the day but left nine men on base.

Nix scored twice and drove home two runs while Hagen scored twice and McCrary drove in a pair of runs.

Craig Warner took the loss for the Knights. Warner pitched 4.1 innings and gave up seven hits and four runs.

Kyle Weeks had three hits for FDU.

The Knights made three errors and left seven men on base.
