Presbyterian Downs SSU

Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga.- Bud Jeter struck out nine batters while Nathan Chong and Brad Zebedis each hit home runs to lead Presbyterian past Savannah State 17-3 at Tiger Field.

Jeter pitched a complete game while allowing six hits.

The Blue Hose scored twice in the first inning and four times in the second for a 6-0 lead.

SSU answered with all three of their runs in the bottom of the third.

Lee Moore popped up to shortstop and Skyler Strickland was hit by a pitch. Darien Campbell grounded out to first which allowed Strickland to advance to second. After Todd Hagen was hit by a pitch, Mendez Elder hit a double that drove in Strickland and Hagen. Joseph McCrary followed with a single that scored Elder. Peter Poole ended the inning with a strikeout.

Presbyterian scored three times in the sixth and added six runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth.

PC collected 17 hits on the day and stranded 11 base runners.

Elder had two hits and drove in two runs for the Tigers (2-1).

Ethan Glass took the loss for SSU. Glass pitched two innings and gave up 7 hits and 6 runs.
