NORFOLK, Va. – Due to heavy rains and lightning the opening of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Baseball Championship in Norfolk, Virginia was delayed today. Savannah State was slated to play at 4 p.m. in game three of the opening day against Delaware State University.

The Tigers will open their first MEAC baseball championship on Thursday. A revised schedule will be released by the conference later this evening.

Game one between Norfolk and North Carolina A&T was played prior to the arrival of the inclement weather. Game two between Bethune-Cookman and Coppin State was halted in the top of the seventh and will resume play tonight at 10 p.m.

UPDATE: The Savannah State Tigers will play their first game in the MEAC Baseball Championship Thursday May 17 at approximantly 12:30 p.m. The conference annoucned this evening that SSU will play thirty mintues after game three. Exact times will be annoucned prior to the game.
