Savannah, Ga. -- The Savannah State baseball team will travel to Norfolk, Va. to take on Delaware State University on Wednesday at 4 p.m. as the team competes in its first ever Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships.
SSU, who enters the Championships as the 4
th seed in the South, drew the North's top seed Delaware State in the first round of action.
The Tigers finished the regular season with a 19-32 overall and 11-13 conference record.
Earlier this season, SSU faced the Hornets in a three-game non-conference series. The Tigers took one of the three games. Pitcher
Kevin Herlihy earned the win for SSU with a 3-0 shutout in game two. DSU won games one and three, 6-2 and 11-5.
