SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State Tennis team fell to Florida A&M Sunday, 0-7, at the new Tiger Tennis Courts.
In the number one spot of the singles match, Savannah State's
Sandra Kristjansdottir fell to Kathline Durden in two sets, 6-2, 6-0. Playing on the number two courts,
Esmira Gheisary fell to Lady Rattler Alexis Brown 6-0, 6-0.
On the third court, Florida A&M's Bethany Holt downed
Nicole Ashiedu in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. Lady Tigers'
Chandel McDonie fell to Britney Dean in the fourth spot, 6-0,6-1.
Ge'Anne Hilton fell to Lady Rattler Shani Williams, 6-0,6-0. Savannah State's
Shannon Howard dropped a match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1 to Florida A&M's Elyisa Ortiz.
In doubles match, the Savannah State team of Kristjansdottir and Ashiedu fell to Durden and Brown 8-4. McDonie and Gheisary dropped a match, 8-1 to the Lady Rattler team of Holt and Ortiz. In the third doubles match, the team of
Davita Washington and Hilton fell to Williams and Britney Dean, 8-1.
The Lady Tigers return to action March 10
th against Alabama State University, on the road in Montgomery, Alabama. First serve is set for 8 a.m.
