NORFOLK, Va. -- Savannah State University men's basketball player Arnold Louis was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the week for the week ending January 29 the conferenced announced today.
 
Louis (F, 6-7, 205, Jr., Wauchula, Fla.) averaged a double-double in a pair of wins last week for the Tigers.  He recorded a total of 29 points, 28 rebounds, one steal and one assist against Stetson and Howard. Louis posted 20 points and 14 rebounds, while going 2-of-2 from the 3-point range, to guide Savannah State to a 71-50 win over Howard.
 
Tahj Tate of Delaware State was named the Rookie of the Week for the second time this year while teammate Marques Oliver earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
