SAVANNAH, Ga.- Chicago State won the three game series with Savannah State after taking a 8-6 victory at Tiger Field.
SSU won the series opener but the Cougars bounced back to win the second and third game of the weekend series.
In the final game, Savannah State left 12 base runners stranded on the basepads while CSU left nine.
The Tigers did not help their efforts by making five errors.
Chicago State led 8-0 before SSU rallied with six runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth. The Tigers left the bases loaded to end the inning.
Savannah State left two on base in the seventh and one in he eighth.
Tommy Freeman suffered the loss after giving up five runs, four walks and three hits while striking out four in 2.1 innings of work.
Trailing 8-0 in the sixth, the first three batters reached base as Emory Barkley walked, Don Jackson singled and Dexter Kelley walked. Matt Nowacki grounded opt to second but Barkley was able to score the Tigers first run.
Chris Arnold hit a two-run single that scored Jackson and Kelley to cut their deficit to 8-3. After

Julius Green and Matt Oglesby drew walks and a single by
Joseph McCrary brought home Arnold and Green to make the score 8-5. The Tigers batted around and Barkley hit a RBI single to score Oglesby for a 8-6 score.
Michael Carpen and Jack Bobillo each had three hits for the Coiugars (4-10). Dylan Sterrett hurled 5.2 innings and struck out six to get the win. Andrew Watson struckl out two in 1.2 innings to get the save.
The loss drops Savannah State to 13-12.
