Savannah, Ga.—Savannah State University tennis team fell 4-3 to Benedict College at Lake Mayer Park on February 23.
SSU's Sandra Kristjansdottir defeated Deandra Reasonover 4-6, 6-1, 10-8, followed by Davita Washington sweeping her opponent 6-1, 6-1. Denisa Vanca won her singles match by default.
Benedict earned their first two points on the board by defeating Shannon Howard 6-1, 6-1, and Chandel McDonie 7-6, 6-1, and Lauren Daniels 5-7, 7-5, 10-7.
In the doubles, Benedict College defeat Kristjansdottir and Washington 8-6, followed by McDonie and Howard 8-6 earning the doubles point and winning the match.
Vanca and Daniels won their doubles game by default.
