ALBANY, Ga.—Savannah State University tennis team won their season opening match by defeating Albany State University 5-2.

Lauren Daniels,
Denisa Vanca,
Shannon Howard, and
Sandra Kristjansdottir all won their singles match earning four points for SSU.
SSU's
Chandel McDonie fell 1-6, 3-6 to ASU's Reanah Kellogg during their singles match followed by
Davita Washington who fell 4-6, 6-2, 6-7 to Crystal LeGrand allowing ASU to add two points to the score board.
Savannah State earned its final point by defeating the Lady Rams in the doubles matches. Washington partnered with Kristjansdottir won 9-7, followed by Vanca and Daniels who won by ASU's default.
Savannah State University's tennis team will play their next match on Friday, February 18 against Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla. At 2 P.M.
