SAVANNAH, Ga.- Three Savannah State relay teams won first place in the SSU Tiger Relays at T. A. Wright Stadium.
The 4x200m team of
Darrius Baker, Deshawn Lee,
Eric Plump and Chaz Price won with a time of 1:26.82, the 4x400m team of
Gabriel Davis,
Tyrone McCoy, price and Plump won with a time of 3:20.01 and the 4x800m team of Etchien Assinzo, Davis, McCoy and Tamron Spencer captured their race with a run of 8:15.08.
SSU placed 4th overall in the 12 team event.
South Carolina State won the men's portion with a team score of 163. Albion was second with 119 points followed by Benedict (118.5) and SSU (89).
Brandon Norman was second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.14. Also finishing second in their event were
Kendall Woumnm and Shawn Sovnenir. Woumnm had a leap of 6-0 in the high jump and Sovnenir had a jump of 14.16m in the triple jump.
Baker, Lee, Assinzo and Sovnenir placed third in the 4x400m relay while McCoy, Davis,
Ruben Isreal-McBee and Assinzo combined for a third place finish in the distance medley with a time of 10:51.27.
As a team, Savannah State compiled 13 top ten finishes.
