FARMVILLE, Va.- Longwood placed four players in double figures in a 68-54 win over Savannah State at Willett Hall before a crowd of 1,220.

Rashad Hassad scored the first points of the game but Longwood answered with a 20-4 run to take a 14 point lead with 13:44 left in the first half.

The Lancers led 29-11 with 5:46 remaining before SSU (10-15) trimmed their deficit to 30-17 at the half.

After three minutes of play in the second period SSU trailed 32-25 but Longwood put together a 13-5 run to to ahead by 15 points.

Longwood led by 16 late in the game and Savannah State could only get as close as 11 with 61 seconds on the clock.

Patrick Hardy led Savannah State with 12 points and Tracy Rankins chipped in 11. Arnold Louis grabbed nine rebounds.

Longwod received 15 points from Dana Smith.

The Tigers won the rebounding battle 41 to 27.

The Lancers (11-17) shot 46.8 percent from the floor while SSU shot 36 percent.
