Amara Jones is currently ranked number two in the nation in the women's indoor 300m, according to the Milesplit website.
The 5-10 sprinter trails Penn State's Shavon Greaves who ran 37.13 at the Penn State Blue-White Meet on December 11, 2010.
Jones posted a time of 38.92 at the Clemson Orange & Purple Winter Classic on December 4, 2010, where she finished in third place.
A native of Freeport, Grand Bahamas, Jones already owns SSU outdoor records in the 200m (23.90) and the 400m (53.01).
