NORFOLK, Va.- Thomas Demarco passed for two touchdown and ran for two more to lift Old Dominion to a 57-9 win over Savannah State at Foreman Field before 19,782 fans.
The win gives the Monarchs a 6-3 record while SSU falls to 0-9.
ODU raced out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter as DeMarco scored on a 8-yard run and then threw a 27 yard touchdown pass. D. Williams scored as time expired in the quarter and Jarod Brown kicked all three extra points.
DeMarco threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to open the second quarter and later scored on a 5-yard run to increase their lead to 36-0 with 9:37 on the clock.

Derek Williams kicked a 44 yard field goal for Savannah State to cut their deficit to 36-3.
ODU answered with a 2-yard touchdown run by Mario Crawford with 3:11 remaining but SSU quarterback
Antonio Bostick scored on a 1-yard run with 39 seconds left in the half. Williams' extra point attempt was blocked and SSU trailed 43-3.
However, the Monarchs had a answer for the SSU touchdown as Aaron Evans returned the kickoff 92-yards for a touchdown and a 50-9 halftime lead.
ODU's Craig Wilkins returned a interception 25 for a score early in the third quarter for the only score of the second half.
For the game, ODU rolled up 489 yards while the Tigers had 240.
Bostick, who was sacked four times, passed for 127 yards and a interception for SSU.
Sheldon Barnes ran for 69 yards and
Simon Heyward caught 6 passes for 55 yards.
Darren Hunter had 9 tackles and CJ Smith had a interception for the defense.
Rodney Hunter had 10 tackles for ODU. DeMarco passed for 198 yards, Williams ran for 72 and Chris Lovitt caught 3 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown.
