NORFOLK, Va.- Norfolk State scored two unearned runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to take a 11-10 win over Savannah State at Miller Field.
Trailing 10-9, NSU's Jerrod Farley led off with a single, Drew Suttmiller reached on an error which allowed Farley to score to tie the game. TiQuan Griffin reached on an error and Suttmiller was able to score to game winner to improve the Spartans to 16-18.
Both teams left eight runners on base and combined for seven errors with the Spartans committing four.
The Tigers jumped out to a 5-0 advantage, scoring three times in the first and twice in the second inning.
Tristan Smith, Matt Oglesby and Jonathan Ross scored in the first inning while Julius Green and Don Jackson crossed the plate in the second.
Norfolk State tied the game with four runs in the bottom of the second and one in the fifth.
SSU added three runs in the sixth as Jackson drove home a run and Oglesby hit a two-run home run to go ahead 8-5.
The Spartans scored four runs off three hits in the seventh to grab a 9-8 lead but SSU took a 10-9 lead in the eighth with Jackson and Smith scoring runs.

Brett Pointer all had three hits for the Tigers (23-24). Smith scored three times while Oglesby and Jackson crossed home plate twice. Oglesby, Ross and Jackson also had two RBIs apiece.
Oglesby was tagged with the loss, pitching one inning and giving up two runs in the ninth.
Farely paced NSU with three hits, three runs scored and three RBIs while Ryan Shook earned the win.
