NORFOLK, Va- John Lynch and John Boyd both hit solo home runs to lift Norfolk State to a 4-3 win over Savannah State at Marty Miller Field.
Lynch hit his home run in the second and Boyd homered over the left field fence in the third.
The Spartans, who completed the series as well as season sweep over Savannah State, scored twice in the first inning.
The score remained 4-0 until the top of the seventh.
Dexter Kelley led off with a double and crossed home plate on a single by Kyle Wilkerson to cut SSU's deficit to 4-1.
The Tigers (19-21) added two runs off four hits in the eighth as David Rowland and Andrew Mendez both hit RBI singles. SSU had runners in scoring position and stranded two runners on base as Wilkerson ended the inning by popping out.
For the game, both teams each left 11 runners on base.
Wilkerson drove in three runs for SSU. Alfred Arnold went the distance for SSU as he gave up nine hits, five walks and four runs. Only two of the runs were earned. Arnold struck out four batters.
Jason Barker earned the win as he struck out six batters in six innings.
NSU improved to 18-18 with the victory.
