Lawrence Livingston

Lawrence Livingston joined the SSU football coaching staff in the summer of 2013 as the quarterbacks coach. He brings 30 years of coaching experience to the Tigers. Livingston also brings several years of HBCU and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) coaching experience to the Tigers.

He came to SSU from Albany State where he has served as the offensive line coach since 2011. Under Livingston’s tutelage, the Albany State passing offense finished second in the Southeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) in passing offense (230 yards/per game) and passing efficiency (129.2%).

Prior to the Rams, Livingston was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for fellow MEAC member Morgan State.  In the 2009 campaign, he helped coach the Bears to their first winning season (6-5) since 2003.

Livingston moved to Morgan State from MEAC member Delaware State where he was the offensive line coach form 2008-2009. DSU had the number one red zone offense in the MEAC during his tenure.

Prior to DSU, Livingston spent four years (2004-2008) as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). In 2003, he was the head coach and offensive coordinator at Earlham College in Indiana.

In March of 2001, he was hired as the offensive line coach for the University of Wyoming. Under his direction, the PAT unit finished first in the Mountain West Conference (MWC). In 2002, he took over duties as co-offensive coordinator at Wyoming. The passing offensive, under Livingston, finished second in the MWC, and was rated 18th in the nation.

In 2000, he took over duties as the tight ends and assistant offensive line coach at the University of Arizona. In his year at Arizona he coached several NFL players and improved the PAT team from last in the Pacific-12 Conference (PAC 12) to second.

Livingston was the running backs coach for Texas A&M in 1998-2000. In 1998, Livingston was part of the first and only Big-12 Championship in the Aggies history.

In 1995-1997 he served as the offensive line coach for Washington State. Livingston alongside retired NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf led the Cougars to their first Pac-10 Championship in 67 years and their first Rose Bowl appearance in school history.

At his alma mater Weber State University, Livingston was the head offensive line coach in 1989-1995. In the 1988-89 season he worked as the offensive line coach for the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Livingston began his illustrious coaching career at Weber State College as a graduate assistant in 1983-84.

He was a four year letterman at Weber State College (1979-1982) as an offensive lineman. He earned a bachelor degree in Physical Education from Weber State in 1986.
