Chris Schultz was named the defensive line/specialists coach for the Savannah State University football team during the summer of 2022.

For three seasons, Schultz was the special teams coordinator and defensive assistant at North Carolina Central University. Schultz helped lead the team to the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship.

During his time at N.C. Central, Schultz coached four All-MEAC kickers, including one preseason All-American kicker and one preseason All-American long-snapper.  

Schultz went back to his roots from 2019-2021, to coach his high school alma mater at North Davidson High School. There, he furthered his defensive experience, focusing on the defensive line as well as special teams.
 
In his time there, they won back to back Conference Championships. Schultz coached eight All-Conference defensive linemen, two All-State kickers and two All-State long-snappers. 
 
Schultz got his start in college football at his collegiate alma mater, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill as a football operations assistant from 2010 to 2012. 
 
Prior stops for Schultz include Florida International University in 2015 and Catawba College in 2014. 
 
Schultz resides in Savannah with his wife Valerie, son Benjamin, and daughter Maggie.
